I have an ISB07 6.7 in BB vision and the high exhaust temp light keeps coming on he has done a regen. It has been back to the dealer a few times for this problem. They end up replacing the ecm for lack of cummication. Just got bus back after ecm replaced and a regen. Now high exhaust temp light is back on can you all give me some ideas of what can cause this light to come on. One more thing there is no DTCs

Forgot to mention we have even changed tires and replaced the rubber spring mounts, Still have the problem. Any ideas anybody?

We have some Thomas Freightliner FS65 with a mild shake in the front end at 40 to 45 mph. it can be felt in the steering wheel. We have balanced tires. roatated tires. checked rims for straightnees and true roundness, tie rods, steering link, kingpins, wheel bearings and alighnments all check good. shocks and U bolts are good.

I have a 2002 GMC chassis that I need a spindle and rotor for. Does anyone know of a salvage opperation that might deal these parts? Thanks. Mike

Hi All, Got a 212 Bluebird Vision with a ISB6.7L check engine light on and alarm going off, 3 active trouble codes, 3369 9 DEF controller abnormal update rate, 3216 9 after treatment outlet NOX abnormal update rate and 3216 9 ??? can't find this code . anyone know ? Thanks in advance Dave O'

An MT643 Allison transmission wont shift into 4th gear. I replaced the air modulator (it has an air actuated throttle) at the recommendation of a bluebird tech. Didn't help. Is there a bad pressure tap somewhere? Any way I could get a hold of a service manual?

I had a BlueBird with manual door do that several years ago. I had to run a new ground wire to the door switch. It was intermitently loosing ground causing the system to cancel. ( I thought I posted this a few minutes ago. If it shows up twice I'm sorry. LOL)

we have tried a new 8 way flasher, but no luck. I checked the door timing switch, it doessn't appear to be broken or out of alignment. Not sure what to try next. If we ever get it figured out, I will let you all know what we find, maybe save someone else all the trouble we have gone thru wiith this!

Tim you may have an issue with the door timing switch located at the rear of the door linkage by the rear leaf, the tab that pushes on the microswitch breaks or the switch itself gets out of alignment. I have found that you can mount the switch on the other side of the bracket the back part will be crooked but it will be easier to work on later. Also check ground and draw on the soleniod the black 8 way controllers have weaker drivers for the solenoid power we have installed a relay on some of our older units.

We have a 2006 freightliner FS-65 with an air operated SMC stop arm, that intermitently will go in on it's own when deployed. When this happens, the red warning lights on the arm as well as overhead go out. You can hit the switch and the lights come back on and the arm deploys, but if the driver doesn't realize the arm has gone back in and red lights are off, this can be VERY dangerous. We have tried a new switch, module, air solenoid, and relay, nothing has solved the problem. The local dealer has looked at it as well as a local electronics installer. Has anybody else had this problem and does anyone have any ideas what to try next?

STN is surveying school bus technicians on tire tracking and maintenance. To participate, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/tire-survey and submit your responses by Jan. 27. Results will be published in the March issue.
What are today’s biggest topics in school bus garages? What are the challenges to meeting the latest emissions requirements? What is the best way to train technicians to keep them updated on the latest electronics? How can improved equipment specifications lead to increased safety and economy? Join the discussion or start your own.
Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/tire-survey and complete this survey on how your operations deal with tires in the shop. This is for editorial in our upcoming March magazine issue. Thanks much, and feel free to pass along this link to your peers and associates. We'll be organizing the responses next week.
Retrofit filters without passive regeneration systems typically plug with soot much more often than engine systems equipped with active onboard regeneration systems. Active regeneration systems have the ability to burn off accumulated soot and thereby keep the filter clear.
Filters can be re-plugged within hours of cleaning if the engine is malfunctioning, operating temperatures are out of specification or if the wrong fuels or lubricants are used. We have seen filters run over 200,000 miles after cleaning and filters that re-plugged in two hours. The ash that plugs a filter loads linearly in the filter based on engine hours and rpm. The loading rate of ash will vary due to the lubricants used, engine condition, and fuel quality. Usually it takes quite a period of time to plug a filter with ash. Soot plugging can occur very quickly and is usually due to a very unfavorable operating condition such as low filter temperature (frequently experience by school bus operators) or engine problems.
As a result, TRP Bus Parts & Service Dealers have installed over 120 FSX Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Machines in North America to assist customers with DPF cleaning. For additional information on Diesel Particulate Filter cleaning or to find a location near you, contact us at TRPBus@paccar.com.
I saw an International 40 hour 5 day class at the factory in Tulsa in June on their website for $300. It looks like a lot of bang for the buck. Anybody else going? Know where to stay?
Just to update, I cleaned the EGR valve and the bus has been doing ok
I have service maxx as well. But usually I just use a temperature gun to find out which injectors aren't working on a cold start up. Also pull out the fuel filter and feel the filter element, if it is slimy feeling and you get a black residue on your figures, you have bad injector o rings. You could have bad o rings even if you put them on during the summer, if you didn't let them sit for a while before installing the injector, or not coating them good with clean engine oil. They tend to tear on install if not coated good.
Check the roof hatch switch of it has one, on our IC bus CE300 (the one type IC we have) the wire connectors pull off switch at hatch if you open and this we be the case.
Legality is a question of state requirements on backing in the first place, I'd think. It is possible to install rear-mounted video cameras similar to those in passenger vehicles, and several vendors already do this for school buses. Look for an article in the February issue on a new rear-view mirror from Rosco that shows video from behind the bus when the vehicle is in reverse.
